La production de Tarots dans la péninsule italienne fut ininterrompue de la Renaissance au "Risorgimento". Les tarots se sont étendus de l'Italie au reste de l'Europe et notamment en France. Ce Tarot italiens représente un très bel exemple de l'originalité et de l'habileté technique des artistes italiens de la fin du XIXème siècle et peut être considéré comme une synthèse de la tradition et de la créativité italienne. Ce jeu fut fabriqué dans le Piémont avec un forte influence de la part des jeux milanais (notamment par les Tarots Dellacora). Composé de 78 lames au format 6,6 x 12cm, il s'utilise donc de la même façon qu'un tarot de Marseille mais avec toute la tradition de l'Italie renfermée dans un jeu unique...

Italy has stood out over the centuries for beautiful Tarot decks directly derived from the first models of the fifteenth-century. Artistic talent and Italian imagination are concentrated in this deck, whose sophistication and symbolic synthesis still amaze, making it an excellent tool for divining. The Ancient Italian Tarot deck is a reproduction of a deck produced in Serravalle Sesia, Italy in 1880 by an anonymous artist. This 1880 deck was in turn based on an earlier deck created in 1835 by the Lombard engraver Carlo Dellarocca. The Ancient Italian Tarot deck has fine line detail in keeping with the engraved original. The coloring, costumes and backgrounds are lavish and rich in color. The card titles are in Italian. Card numbers are given in all four corners and the upper center. The lower right number is upside-down to aid in interpreting reversals. 78 cards - 66 x 120 mm.
