Southwest Sacred Tribes Tarot
The Tarot of the Southwestern Sacred Tribes is devoted to the art and culture of the Native American peoples of the American Southwest. Artist Vileta Monreal studied 57 different tribal nations when creating this deck. She was inspired by the diversity of these tribes and their various ways of demonstrating their love of Mother Earth. Her images reflect the beauty of traditional sacred objects, art forms and crafts. Each suit is devoted to a particular group of tribes and one of its characteristic items: Apache ceremonial swords (Swords), Hopi ceremonial clubs (Wands), traditional RioGrande-Pueblo pottery (Cups) and Navajo sandpaintings (Coins). Certain cards in the major arcana are also dedicated to each of these tribal entities. There are many other Native American theme decks as well.
